Denise is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, providing therapy to adult individuals and couples. She earned her Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Northwestern University and trained at The Family Institute. She is also a licensed attorney, with a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola University Chicago School of Law.
Denise strongly believes therapy can help anyone change and grow. Her active and integrative approach is authentic, warm, and with a sense of humor. She enjoys working with youth and adults dealing with a range of clinical issues. Denise approaches therapy from a client-centered manner, with treatment structured to meet each client’s unique needs. For those who are interested, she can also help to integrate mindfulness and meditation into the therapy process.
Denise’s practice includes treatment for anxiety, career counseling, depression, life transitions, relationship issues, and stress management. Denise utilizes psychodynamic theory, cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems, and mindfulness. A special interest is working with professionals in areas relating to career issues, relationship concerns, stress management, and work-life balance.
Denise is a graduate of The Second City’s Improv Training Program. She finds her improv experience helps to establish a creative and supportive environment for her clients, as well as integrating humor into the therapeutic process.
