SamaraCare has received a $25,000 grant from the Martha J. Johnson Fund of the DuPage Foundation to support its Mental Health Access Program, which provides counseling fee subsidy assistance to under-resourced clients. As part of its Community Needs Grant Program, DuPage Foundation granted $678,480 to 37 not-for-profit organizations providing essential health and human services to residents.
The Mental Health Access Program was created, in tandem with SamaraCare’s mission, to offer reduced cost care on a sliding scale basis to qualified individuals who are uninsured, under-insured, or encounter financial limitations. SamaraCare spends approximately $500,000 per year in fee subsidy assistance. On average, 20-25% of SamaraCare’s client base requires financial assistance at any given time.
