“I aspire to establish a secure environment that encourages minorities and other populations to disclose their experiences and allow me to provide assistance throughout their voyage. Relatedness and trust are lacking in the community, and I am eager to engage in the world and provide assistance to those who may share my appearance, speech, or personality.”

Samira’s journey enriches her therapeutic approach, providing a holistic perspective emphasizing healing and personal development. Growing up on the south side of Chicago, she saw the neglect of mental health in her community, and she aims to leverage her distinct background and viewpoints to create culturally aware psychological frameworks that assist marginalized communities. She advocates and champions individuals’ rights because she values their dignity and their capacity to rise above intolerance.

Samira holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychological Science from Xavier University of Louisiana and gained research experience through the NIH BUILD program and the LSUHSC-New Orleans PREP program. Her interest in an M.A. in clinical mental health counseling led her to graduate from Northwestern University’s CACREP-accredited program. Being a part of an individual’s journey toward happiness, regaining power, or overall development motivated her to help others achieve fulfillment and growth.

As a counselor, Samira offers guidance to individuals, couples, and groups to adopt a person-centered and psychodynamic approach, integrating techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Trauma-Focused Therapy.
Samira’s therapeutic approach offers a compassionate, understanding, and encouraging atmosphere for people to examine their emotions and cultivate a deeper sense of self-esteem. She aims to create a safe space in which clients feel comfortable working through difficult life circumstances and psychological challenges.

Outside of work, Samira is a devoted dog mom to a three-year-old Cane Corso, an avid reader focused on Race-Based Trauma, and enjoys exploring new cultures. Her personal experiences enrich her therapeutic practice, enhancing her perspective on healing and personal growth.
