Perceptive by nature, Penny brings her expertise from theology, social work, and the corporate world into the therapeutic session. She is an LCSW who holds a Ph.D. in Theology, Ethics, and the Human Sciences and a Master of Divinity from Chicago Theological Seminary; a Master of Social Work from Dominican University; and a post-graduate certificate in Bowen Family Systems Theory and Psychotherapy from the Center for Family Consultation, Evanston, Illinois. She completed her clinical training at Pillars in Western Springs, Illinois, and Aging Care Connections in LaGrange, Illinois.

Desiring to delve deeper into clinical and spiritual understandings of well-being, she specializes in anxiety and transformation. Utilizing an integrative approach to counseling, she combines her training and experience in Bowen Family System Theory, spirituality, and storytelling to guide her clients by listening and discovering their gifts toward a process of renewal.

Penny is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and an Ordained Minister in the United Church of Christ, she has served in church ministry for over 20 years, awarded a Lilly Grant, and taught graduate courses in both social work and pastoral theology. As a past member of the Society for Pastoral Theology, she co-facilitated the Theological Dimensions of the Family Study group. Additionally, Penny has worked in corporate America for two fortune 500 companies and was the first woman hired by the Chicago Tribune newspaper for their state-of-the-art electronic pre-press operation.

She enjoys being in nature, seeing a good sunrise/good sunset, gardening, and exercising.

 Penny offers telehealth and in-person in Downers Grove sessions Monday – Thursday from 12 pm-7 pm.

 Penny accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, Medicare PPO, and United Behavioral Health PPO.
