Silent Samaritan
The Silent Samaritan breakfast is dedicated to raising funds to suport women. and their children, who come to SamaraCare seeking counseling, regardless of their ability to pay. The are women in difficult financial circumstances due to divorce, job loss, or abandonment. They are mother parenting alone, widows isolated in their bereavement, married-women in failing relationships, and survivors of domestic abuse. The are women who need help from Silent Samaritans like you.
Silent Samaritan started in 2007 with the realization that: nationally, over 60% of those who seek counseling are women; year after year we have more than 280 women seek our services who require a fee subsidy; and women are more likely than men to be victims of physical, sexual and emotional abuse.
To fund the Silent Samaritan program, we hold a very popular annual fundraising breakfast that features a keynote speaker and a recipient of the program who tells her story.
