Dr. Anna Mackender completed her medical school education at Southern Illinois University and her residency training in psychiatry at Rush University Medical Center at Chicago. She practices general psychiatry with specialization in pharmacology. She enjoys treating adults with depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, ADHD and other mental health problems. She also has a special interest in women’s mental health as well as treatment of psychiatric disorders during pregnancy and postpartum. She is a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional (PMH-C) through Post Partum Support International. Dr. Mackender values a multidisciplinary approach to mental health with a comprehensive assessment of psychological and life style issues designed to benefit the overall well-being of her patients.
Dr. Mackender was born and raised in Poland and has lived most of her life in the Chicago suburbs. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, outdoor adventures, and watching movies with her husband and three daughters.
Dr. Mackender sees clients in Wheaton and via telehealth.
