Cynthia received her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Adler University in Chicago, IL. Prior to obtaining her doctoral degree, she attended Aurora University where she received her MBA with a concentration in leadership and B.A. in Criminal Justice. She has a deep-rooted compassion for helping individuals affected with a wide range of social, cognitive, emotional, and behavioral challenges. Cynthia specializes in anxiety and panic disorders, depression and stress, marital and family conflict, geriatric issues, grief and loss, PTSD, social and emotional functioning, spirituality/faith/existential, trauma recovery, and OCD.

As a Health Psychologist and a believer in focusing on total mind-body wellness as a means of healing, her primary interventional practices include utilizing present-moment awareness, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), Functional Analytic Psychotherapy (FAP), and trauma-informed therapy. Cynthia strives for culturally competent therapy incorporating her client’s values into their work together in a safe and nonjudgmental environment.  Cynthia has a strong passion for living her faith while also respecting the faith/spirituality of others.

Cynthia previously served as a Commissioner for the Fox Valley Park District Board, and on the board of directors for the City of Aurora Disabilities Commission and the Hispanic Heritage Advisory Board. Cynthia is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Illinois Psychological Association.

When Cynthia is not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her family. She enjoys going to morning mass and adoration, painting, and boxing for self-care. Cynthia is a Cursillista and has been living her Cursillo since 2007.
