Dr. Danielle Romano-Cihak is a licensed clinical psychologist, specializing in therapy with children, adolescents and young adults for over 16 years. Specialty areas include anxiety, depression and stress, self-injury, Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD and learning disabilities, LGBTQ+, parenting and family issues, young adult transitions, and social and emotional functioning.

Dr. Romano-Cihak earned her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois, focusing on Child and Adolescent Psychology. She has provided treatment in multiple settings, allowing her to gain experience with different client populations. She implements a variety of treatment modalities, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). She uses therapeutic strategies to support children, adolescents and adults in mindfulness, effective communication, and healthy management of mood and stress. Through positive therapeutic rapport and individualized techniques, Dr. Romano-Cihak strives to help clients reach their goals in emotional, academic, and social environments.

Dr. Romano-Cihak is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Illinois Psychological Association. In addition, she holds an adjunct professor position at Midwestern University, and she values the opportunity to work with graduate students in the classroom and in the community.

Dr. Romano-Cihak sees clients at the Wheaton location on weekdays (Monday-Friday). She is available for in person or virtual sessions; she has daytime and afternoon hours with evening hours available two evenings a week.
