“A coaching/consulting approach focuses on specific goals for change and how best to pursue these goals. Barriers to such change will be identified and addressed (for example, self-defeating thoughts, emotions, beliefs, relational dynamics} and progress reviewed regularly. Clients will be referred for more intensive psychotherapy if needed.”
Ken has worked in the mental health field for more than 50 years. Ken holds a Bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in Religious Studies from the University of Illinois, a Master of Divinity degree specializing in Pastoral Counseling from Northern Seminary, a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from George Williams College, and a Doctor of Ministry degree in Family Therapy from Chicago Theological Seminary. He has extensive experience working in various clinical settings. Throughout his career he has worked with church professionals, local congregations, regional church judicatories, and church denominations in a variety of counseling, coaching, and consulting roles. He describes himself as having a special heart for pastors and the churches they serve and a deep appreciation for the challenges they face in the 21st Century.
